Coping, produced by Green Spark Productions, opened last night to rave responses as part of the Capital Fringe Festival.

Written by Jacob Marx Rice, winner of the FringeNYC Excellence in Playwriting Award and the Cincinnati Fringe Festival Producer's Pick, Coping is an ink black comedy that won a 2015 New York FringeFAVE Award. Now a team of DC artists led by director Joshua W. Kelley bring this beautiful play to DC audiences in a stunning new production at the Mead Theatre Lab.

In the aftermath of 25-year-old Connor's suicide, his girlfriend, sister, and roommate try desperately to make things right, place blame, and confront their own battles with mental illness. Wickedly funny and shockingly tender, Coping explores and explodes our experience of grief, mental illness, and family.

Green Spark Productions supports and develops new work, focusing primarily on new plays and immersive experiences. We aim to make theater accessible and thought-provoking, and to give opportunities to emerging artists. greensparkproductions.com
